What did Snow White do to the Evil Queen?

(Update 9/20/12): This post was written before the show revealed what Snow White did that made the Evil Queen hate her so much. To find out what she did, see the recap for episode 18, The Stable Boy.

Original post below:

The Evil Queen and Snow White in front of the coffin of Snow White's father (behind the scenes, Episode 7 "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter")

ABC said in a press release that in an upcoming show (not tonight’s, but the one after that — Episode 18 Stable Boy, airing April 1) “the event that caused the Evil Queen to loathe Snow White [will be] revealed.”

Can you predict what the event will be?

We saw in an earlier episode that the Evil Queen said that Snow White betrayed her by revealing a secret. What do you think the Evil Queen’s secret was?

So that’s two (very closely related) questions: What was the event, and what was the secret?

Anyone who guesses either or both correctly will get a shout-out in a future post.

Episode 10 “7:15 A.M.” will be rerun on April 8, 2012

Once Upon a Time episode 10

Mary Margaret and David kiss, in "7:15 A.M."

ABC announced that the Snow-Charming-Mary-Margaret-David-centric episode “7:15 A.M.” (originally broadcast on January 22)  will be rerun on Sunday, April 8, 2012, from 8:00 to 9:01.

That means the schedule for the next three weeks looks like this:

March 25 – Hat Trick (episode 17)
April 1 – The Stable Boy (episode 18)
April 8 – rerun of 7:15 A.M. (episode 10)

ABC had already announced that the season finale will be on May 13. There are 22 episodes total for the season — so there will be four more new episodes to be aired after April 8. But there are five Sundays after April 8, up to and including the finale date. So there will have to be one more week after April 8 when they won’t be showing a new episode.

(editing to add:) I wonder why the network chose this particular episode to rerun. I think Skin Deep, for one, was more of a fan favorite. Perhaps their going back over the Prince/Snow/David/MaryM story means that they want to refresh our memories before they advance that storyline another step. I think we’ll see something significant happen with David and Mary Margaret’s relationship before the end of this season.

Episode 1.16 “Heart of Darkness” — recap, review, etc.

Great episode! Mary Margaret’s on the lam! David saw the past! Rumpelstiltskin collects hair!

In this Snow White centric episode, Ginnifer Goodwin acts her heart out in three distinctly different roles — Snow White under the spell, Snow White restored to herself, and Mary Margaret in a performance that broke my heart. Continue reading

Poll: What did you think of Episode 16, “Heart of Darkness”?

Once Upon a Time season finale is May 13, 2012

ABC announced the official finale date for the show, and it’s Sunday, May 13, with the episode being at the usual 8:00 PM time.

That’s going to be episode #22, and its title is Is It the Truth. (Editing to add 3/26/12: The finale title is A Land Without Magic. This is official, from a tweet from series creator Adam Horowitz.) After that, the show will go into its summer hiatus. No word yet on when or if the network will be showing reruns over the summer.

So as of today (March 17), there are seven more episodes left, and we are a little more than two-thirds of the way through the season. It feels like it went by so fast!

“Red Handed” is the second most popular episode ever, according to this blog’s readers

Once Upon a Time Red at her window, happy to see Peter Looking at the poll results so far, Red Handed is the second most popular episode of the season, with 82 percent of the people who voted in the poll choosing the top rating. Red Handed‘s high rating was surpassed only by Skin Deep, the episode about Belle and Rumpelstiltskin, which got top ratings from 86 percent of the voters. The third most popular episode so far, with top ratings from 75 percent of the voters, was The Heart is a Lonely Hunter, the episode about Graham/the Huntsman that ended with Graham dying in Emma’s arms.

By contrast, only 12 percent of voters gave the top rating to last week’s dwarf-centric episode, Dreamy.
