Episode 7 “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter” will be at the regular time on Sunday evening

Behind the scenes of "The Heart is a Lonely Hunter"

A few scheduling reminders: Episode 7 will be on Sunday night (December 11, 2011) at the regular time. Next week, they’ll be showing a rerun of Episode 3 (Snow Falls). There won’t be any new episodes until January 8, 2012.

I think “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter” is going to be a great stopping point as we go into intermission, a way to (temporarily) end with a bang. I’m psyched because it looks as if this is going to be an exciting episode with several dramatic revelations.

The writers for Episode 7 are Edward Kitsis & Adam Horowitz, who are the creators and executive producers of the show and, of course, best known previously for their work on LOST. They wrote episodes 1 and 2 of OUAT.

The director is Dave Barrett, who has directed and produced various TV shows, including Cold Case. This is his first time working on OUAT.

Sneak peeks of Episode 6 “The Shepherd”

Once Upon a Time episode 6

Rumpelstiltskin in "The Shepherd"

Episode 6, The Shepherd, was written by Andrew Chambliss (who wrote for Dollhouse and The Vampire Diaries) and Ian Goldberg (who wrote for Criminal Minds and FlashForward). It’s directed by Victor Nelli, who has a lot of TV credits, including being a writer and executive producer for Outsourced and Ugly Betty. This is the first time for all of them on Once Upon a Time.

There are four sneak peeks of The Shepherd (slightly spoilery) after the jump: Continue reading

Jane Espenson’s live commentary for “That Still Small Voice”

Jane Espenson, Once Upon a Time writer

Jane Espenson

Raphael Sbarge wasn’t the only one who did a live text chat last night for That Small Still Voice. Jane Espenson, who wrote the episode, did one as well. You can still read it in the CliqueClack archive.

One interesting thing she said was that they were currently working on Episode 15, and that they “know the shape of the story to the end of the season, and broad strokes of season two.”

Also interesting and welcome news is (slightly spoilerish, so click if you want to continue) Continue reading

Reminder: No episode of “Once Upon a Time” this week (Nov. 20)

On Sunday night, ABC will be showing the American Music Awards instead of Once Upon a Time, so the next episode will be on November 27.

That next episode, That Small Still Voice, was written by Jane Espenson, who is best known as a writer on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Although this is the first OUAT episode where she is listed as a writer, she is credited as a consulting producer on The Price of Gold, Snow Falls, and The Thing You Love Most.

Paul Edwards directed the episode. He was a camera operator on eight episodes of LOST in Seasons One and Two, and he directed ten episodes of LOST in Seasons Two through Six. The Small Still Voice will be his Once Upon a Time debut.
