“Once Upon a Time” around the world

Once Upon a Time cast around the worldOnce Upon a Time is now playing only in the United States and Canada, but it’s soon going to spread around the world.

According to Wikipedia, sometime in 2012, OUAT will start airing in Australia, Brazil, Greece, Israel, and New Zealand.  It will also be showing in Spain at an unspecified date.

Check the “Watch” tab above for any updates to info on where the show will be playing, any scheduling changes, etc. I’ll try to keep the info in that tab current.  If you have any additional info, please let me know in the comments below.

Reminder: No episode of “Once Upon a Time” this week (Nov. 20)

On Sunday night, ABC will be showing the American Music Awards instead of Once Upon a Time, so the next episode will be on November 27.

That next episode, That Small Still Voice, was written by Jane Espenson, who is best known as a writer on Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Although this is the first OUAT episode where she is listed as a writer, she is credited as a consulting producer on The Price of Gold, Snow Falls, and The Thing You Love Most.

Paul Edwards directed the episode. He was a camera operator on eight episodes of LOST in Seasons One and Two, and he directed ten episodes of LOST in Seasons Two through Six. The Small Still Voice will be his Once Upon a Time debut.

In this cute video made last month, four of the OUAT actors talk to TV Guide about the show, their first acting jobs, and their quirky talents. Lana Parrilla can make a horse-galloping sound with her mouth, and Robert Carlyle can juggle three apples. Who knew?

Recap

In The Price of Gold, the two worlds seem closer than ever. Rumpelstiltskin/Mr. Gold, like Desmond in LOST, is the one character, at least so far, who is aware of one world while he is in the other. He moves seamlessly from the fairy tale world to Storybrooke as he chases after Cinderella’s/Ashley’s baby. (The fairy tale/Storybrooke names are always related. In this case, a “cinder” is an “ash.”)

The episode starts with Cinderella’s evil stepmother and stepsisters going off to the ball, leaving Cinderella behind, dressed in rags, to clean the cottage. Before the credits are even over, though, the story takes a violent twist away from the traditional tale when Rumpelstiltskin kills the Fairy Godmother. Continue reading

No rerun of “Snow Falls” (episode 3) this week

For the last two weeks, ABC has been showing a rerun of the previous Once Upon a Time episode at 7:00 on Sunday and then the new episode at 8:00. They’re not doing that this week. Maybe those two weeks with reruns were just a temporary thing to give a boost to the show at its beginning.

The new episode “The Price of Gold” will be at the regular 8:00 time, Sunday, November 13, 2011, but at 7:00 they’re showing “America’s Funniest Home Videos.”

You can still watch “Snow Falls” online for free at Hulu, ABC, and IMDB (which is really just the Hulu version). You can also buy the episode on Amazon and iTunesicon.
