  1. I liked the pacing of this one, especially in the 1980s scenes, and I liked the way the curse backfired, trapping Regina in a tedious “Groundhog Day” world. By the time the episode’s ending came along, i wasn’t surprised to learn that the Mysterious Stranger was Owen, but I felt very satisfied to learn he was there looking for his father — echoing Pinnochio’s search for his father, Rumpel’s search for his son, and Snow and Charming’s search for each other.

  2. The 80s– YAY!

Uh, is this ‘Groundhog Day’? (Bill Murray classic)
When Regina got Henry, wouldn’t Henry know he was living the same day over, and over, and over again?
How did Storybrooke live the same day over and over with advancing technology, etc? Maybe the curse resets itself to match its current surroundings? Okay, I’ll buy off on that.
The dark spot in Snow’s heart….classic. I absolutely loved that scene.

    • Simultaneous posting! I was also thinking of Groundhog Day as I watched.

Before I saw this episode, I had thought that because of the curse, time was not advancing AT ALL — which makes even less sense than to have time advancing and retreating a day at a time — because how could the townsfolk even breath in and out, digest their food, etc., if time never moved? But anyway you look at it, it doesn’t really make sense. No matter which way time “stood still,” even if it moved back and forth a day at a time, wouldn’t Henry have noticed that he was getting bigger as the years went on, while his classmates all stayed their original size?

I feel bad for Snow and hope she learns to live with her dark spot without letting it change the fundamentally good — if no longer perfect — person she is.

  3. I hated the scene with Snow and Regina. I thought is was beneath Snow to beg Regina to kill her. It was just so stupid.

  4. I was enjoying this episode immensely until bratty Henry opened his mouth. I always liked the kid but lately he’s been getting on my nerves. I also missed Snow/Mary Margaret interacting with David/Charming and Emma in this episode. Even a small scene of her talking to one of them would have added a lot. I’m starting to wish ABC would air OUAT with “limited commercial interruption” as I always feel as if there could be so much more to each episode……and I’m hoping there’ll be more flashing back to the early days of Storybrooke. There’s something mesmerizing about the characters under the curse and any chance to have Jamie Dornan back as Graham is welcome.

  5. Bratty Henry? Why is Henry bratty? Regina and Cora are the brats. I agree it was stupid for Snow to ask Regina to kill her, and I also think it is stupid to think that killing an evil person makes one evil, even with Snow White. It makes her a hero.

  6. I loved the scene between Snow and Regina , and how Regina didnt kill her because she knew she would be more miserable living. I now see why Regina wanted Henry so bad. And I did feel sorry for Regina but if I was her I would have killed Snow, it would have been to tempting not to since she hates her so much.

  7. I still don’t get why Rumple had to have Regina cast the curse. Why didn’t he just do it? And gymp! Yup, I love gymp-so much fun. I agree this episode blew except for Owen and his dad. Made me hate Regina even more, she is such a control freak I want to smack her. She shouldn’t be around any kid. The boy who played Owen was so cute and he did a great job.

  8. Ok. I love the show but this episode was awful. Whoever said Henry is a brat, I agree. All he does now is get whatever he wants by going to whichever parent that can give it to him. And if not he runs away and does what he wants anyway. He needs some discipline. Snow is equally annoying maybe worse. She has killed people, ogres, etc in fairy tale land so why is she so depressed that she saved her entire family by eliminating Cora? Does not make sense. Ok she was pure of heart and now it’s blackening. Fix it. Your inlaw is the dark one and your daughter is the savior. Don’t give up like a chump. Really irritating episode.

  9. I remember Snow killing an Ogre. If she was in a war, wouldn’t it be possible she killed someone…maybe? I don’t remember her killing a person.
Maybe it was the way she killed Cora that’s turning her heart black. She resorted to Dark Magic and then lied and conned Regina.
I just wonder why Bae didn’t tell his father, hey, you either protect the “family” or I’m moving back to New York!
Rumpel doesn’t seem to care about Henry which is despicable. I don’t see Bae and Rumpel’s relationship lasting for that alone.
Saw the previews for next episode. Seems somebody wants Storybrooke’s magic?

  10. I just read the description for next week’s episode:
“Selfless, Brave and True” – While Mary Margaret goes off on her own in an attempt to come to grips with what she did to Cora and how her deed has affected her, she stumbles upon August, who has hidden himself away from the others and is completely made of wood — ashamed at the actions he has taken in life; and Emma is shocked when Neal invites his fiancée, Tamara, to come to Storybrooke. Meanwhile, before the curse was cast, August is introduced to a man of magic who may be able to prevent him from turning back into wood — but at a steep price”
Okay, if August is made out of wood, how could he hide himself away? He can’t move.
Also in the trailer, Bae’s fiancée looks mean and she is asked if she is going to take magic from Storybrooke, so could she really be someone from FTL? And if so, who?

  11. Regina keeps saying “I WILL have my son!” (Henry), but what I’d like to know is WHY she would want to raise Henry knowing he is the biological son of Emma, and that Henry loves her!

  12. It’s all interesting, but is the dialectic between EW and SW ever going to end? It’s turning into a bad soap opera.

What do you think?
