Info on Season 2, Episode 6 “Tallahassee”

This episode, which airs November 4,  looks like it’s going to be amazing.

Get ready for:

(1) The return of a beloved character who we’ve  been worried about.

(2) The return of a mysterious character who we’ve been intensely curious about.

(3) A guest star beloved by LOST fans.

More after the jump (warning: Spoilers!) Here is the official episode description:

With the hopes of finding a magical compass that could help her and Mary Margaret get back to Storybrooke, Emma takes a journey with a not-too-trustworthy Captain Hook up a treacherous beanstalk in an attempt to steal the item from a murderous giant (Jorge Garcia, “Lost”).

Meanwhile, Emma’s past is revealed to be anything but magical when she meets up with a fellow thief who wants to make an honest woman out of her.

Here’s the list of guest stars:

Michael Raymond-James as Neal Cassady

He was credited as “Mysterious Man” — the one who received the “Broken” postcard — in the season premiere!

Note: Neal Cassady — the name, or perhaps the assumed name, of the character — is also the name of a real person from the beatnik era. He was a friend of Jack Kerouac, the author of “On the Road,” and was the inspiration for one of that book’s main characters.

He led a wild life. When he was a teenager, according to Wikipedia, “Cassady was repeatedly involved in petty crime. He was arrested for car theft when he was 14, for shoplifting and car theft when he was 15, and for car theft and fencing when he was 16.”

He was a thief … and there is a thief in this episode! Hmmm…

The name might also explain the surprising selection of a Lou Reed song on his iPod when he appeared in the season premiere. While Neal Cassady was mostly a figure of the 50s and Lou Reed of the 60s, there may have been some kind of connection.

Other guest stars:

Colin O’Donoghue as Killian Jones/Hook
Sarah Bolger as Aurora
Jamie Chung as Mulan

Eion Bailey as August W. Booth/Pinocchio (He’s back!. We were worried about him! )

Jorge Garcia as Giant (Yay, Jorge!)

Marc-Anthony Massiah as traffic cop
Tony Alcantar as cashier
Fane Tse as customer
Artine Brown as cop
Kerry Sandomirsky as Loretta

The episode was written by Christine Boylan and Jane Espenson and directed by Dave Barrett. Jane Espenson writes my favorite episodes. Dave Barrett previously directed The Heart is a Lonely Hunter. This is going to be good.

And, as I mentioned before, I’m hoping that the episode title is a nod to one of my favorite LOST episodes ever, The Man From Tallahassee.

That is so cool. Thank you for remembering that and for making the connection.

  4. This is great!!!! The writing is evolving to make this a truly exciting season of OUAT. Can’t wait to see what they do with Jorge’s character. It’s fun seeing all my favorite Lost actors on this show. I hope others will join the cast.

  5. Isn’t the most famous thief in fiction Robin Hood?
